Frequently asked

Common insurance questions

What should I consider when buying auto insurance?

Don’t base the decision on price alone — consider value, the carrier’s claims service and the liability limits that make sense for your assets. Then decide which optional coverages you want.

How can I lower my auto insurance rates?

Ask about discounts (multi-car, multi-policy, good driver, good student), consider a higher deductible if you can afford it, and compare equivalent coverage across carriers — which is exactly what we do for you.

Does homeowners insurance cover earthquakes or floods?

No. Standard homeowners policies exclude both. Earthquake and flood coverage are purchased separately, and flood policies usually have a waiting period.

What does renters insurance cover?

Your personal belongings, additional living expenses if your rental becomes uninhabitable, and personal liability. Your landlord’s policy does not cover your stuff.

How much life insurance do I need?

Start with what your family would need if your income stopped: income replacement for several years, debts, education goals and final expenses, minus savings and existing coverage.

What is an umbrella policy?

Extra liability coverage that sits above your auto and home limits, typically starting at $1 million, protecting your savings and future income from large claims.

Can I change my coverage online?

Yes. Use our secure policy change form on the Client Services page. Remember: coverage is not bound or changed until confirmed by a licensed agent.

Does my credit affect my insurance?

In California, auto insurers may not use credit scores to set rates. Some other lines and states do consider credit-based insurance scores. Ask us how it applies to you.

Still have questions?

Our licensed agents explain coverage in plain language — no jargon, no pressure.
